Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has finally scored in the Premier League, against Brentford and Sunderland, but he still has a long way to go to show his skills.
Ruben Amorim’s trust in Joshua Zirkzee, meanwhile, is eroding, with the Dutchman set to explore an Old Trafford exit sooner rather than later. With Rasmus Hojlund also unlikely to return, United could be in the market for another striker.
According to Caught Offside, the Red Devils are interested in signing Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong following his strong start to the La Liga season, in which he has five goals and three assists in eight games.
In addition to Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keeping an eye on the 21-year-old’s improvement, with his stock swiftly rising just weeks after joining newly promoted Levante from Villarreal.
Etta Eyong, a quality backup
Karl Etta Eyong would have to perform admirably if he is to start at a team like Manchester United ahead of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha, but he would undoubtedly be a good backup option.
The Cameroonian’s finishing talents and decision-making in the box are superb, with his aerial abilities and movement in the final third playing a significant role in his success this season and making him an unpredictable striker.
He would benefit Tottenham Hotspur just as much, but with Dominic Solanke already on the squad and Richarlison gradually getting his footing, it remains to be seen whether the Londoners are willing to add another number nine.
As for Etta Eyong, Manchester United would be a major step up from Levante, so even if they do not qualify for the Champions League next season, the Levante attacker would be interested in signing with them.
