Manchester City won Group G of the FIFA Club World Cup with a strong performance on Thursday, defeating Juventus 5-2 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
City went ahead 2-1 in the 26th minute thanks to an own goal by Juve defender Pierre Kalulu, who attempted to intercept a cross at close range but instead punched the ball into the net.
The rout went on from there. Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Savinho scored in the second half to make the score 5-1. Haaland scored the 300th goal of his career for the English team.
Rodri, last year’s Ballon d’Or winner, made his first appearance since having knee ligament surgery in September. He was substituted in the 66th minute.
Jeremy Doku opened the score for City in the ninth minute, but Teun Koopmeiners equalised two minutes later. Dusan Vlahovic scored for Juve in the 84th minute, and the Italians finished second in their group.

Kaku scores the winning goal as Al Ain defeats Wydad Casablanca 2-1
Kaku scored early in the second half to lead Al Ain to a 2-1 victory against Wydad Casablanca in Washington on Thursday in Group G’s last match. Reported by News Cgtn.
Both teams had already been eliminated from contention for the tournament’s knockout round, since they entered their last group stage encounter winless.
Wydad coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem was on crutches after he and a team medic were involved in a road accident earlier this week. No one was seriously wounded in the incident, but the 50-year-old Moroccan was unable to attend the team’s press conference the day before the game.
Wydad scored first in the fourth minute. Cassius Mailula found himself unchecked at the end of Mohamed Moufid’s cross, beating goalkeeper Rui Patricio at the near post. Mailula is currently on loan at Wydad from Major League Soccer club Toronto.
Just before halftime, Kodjo Laba converted a penalty kick to equalize for Al Ain. The penalty, which was confirmed by video review, ended the UAE team’s tournament scoreless streak. This past season, the Togolese attacker led the UAE Pro League in scoring.
