The 24-year-old Italian goalkeeper has emerged as a serious target for manager Ruben Amorim, according to journalist Alfredo Pedullà’s latest update.
Pedullà reports United are “ready to present” a €40 million bid, though Atalanta are demanding closer to €45–50 million.
Negotiations could progress if Man United include bonus clauses to meet Atalanta’s valuation and satisfy all parties involved in the deal.
Carnesecchi’s arrival may hinge on André Onana’s potential departure, with Saudi Arabia touted as a possible destination for the Cameroon international.
Onana has been Manchester United’s number one for two seasons, but no concrete exit plan is currently in place for him.
Without Onana’s sale, it seems unlikely the Premier League side will finalize a deal for the Atalanta keeper just yet, report Witness.
Despite the uncertainty, Carnesecchi remains a “concrete target” as United look to revamp key positions during the current transfer window.
The Red Devils’ interest reflects their intent to strengthen their squad under Amorim as they aim to return to top form next season.
