Manchester United are reportedly closing on Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers after agreeing not to pay the player’s release clause up front.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United have verbally agreed to sign Wolves striker Matheus Cunha this summer.
The five-year contract that the Brazilian striker will sign will run until June 2030. Additionally, the club will have the option to extend the agreement through 2031.
The transfer news specialist went on to say that the Red Devils will pay Wolves in installments rather than in full for the £62.5 million ($83.4 million) release clause.

The club are anticipated to formally complete the deal and extend a contract offer to the player this week.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, starting in the upcoming season, Cunha will don Marcus Rashford’s No. 10 jersey.
Following an outstanding six-month loan stint at Aston Villa, Rashford is anticipated to finalize a permanent departure from the team with this decision.
In order to assemble a competitive team for the 2025–26 season, Ruben Amorim will try to acquire more players to his roster after a terrible 2024–25 campaign.
The Red Devils finished the season underwhelmingly which saw them placed 15th in the Premier League standings and also lost the UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur to cap off a shambolic campaign.
