Man United Set To Swoop For Another Brentford’s Key Figure

The chief operating officer of Brentford, Ameesh Manek is reportedly set to be named the next director of football operations at Manchester United, becoming the third individual to make the move from west London to the north west in as many months.

Two off-field additions have been made to help United after the club’s widely reported pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo ended with the Cameroon winger heading to Manchester for £71 million.

According to The Mirror, Manek will leave following three years at Brentford and he will be responsible for managing United’s Carrington training facility.

As United look to transform the club’s daily operations, he will oversee travel, security, training facilities, staff management, and infrastructure.

Omar Berrada, the CEO, recently appointed him, and he will be responsible for overseeing both the men’s and women’s teams.

Since Stephen Torpey began serving as the Red Devils’ academy director two weeks ago, Manek has been maintaining the tradition of people moving from west London to Manchester.

With Mbeumo having his best season to date last season, United spent weeks attempting to sign him in the summer. In a deal that seemed to work for everyone, Brentford dug in and eventually got the kind of reward they desired.

Mbeumo has been a shining light despite the team’s evident difficulties this season. In addition to scoring in the Premier League, his first goal came during the Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby.

Less than two weeks ago, United lost 3-1 in the capital, making the 25-year-old’s first homecoming to Brentford forgettable.
