Manchester United reportedly sent officials to Spain to watch Real Sociedad beat Barcelona 2-1, aiming for a double transfer mission.
The match saw Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal score first, before Marcus Rashford equalised for Barcelona in the 70th minute.
Just one minute later, Goncalo Guedes restored Sociedad’s lead with a powerful finish, despite Carlos Soler’s late red card.
United representatives were reportedly present to assess both Oyarzabal and Rashford, according to Football Transfers.
United are said to be exploring a Rashford return after Ruben Amorim’s dismissal, potentially reopening the forward’s future, reports Team Talk.
Amorim had reportedly pushed Rashford out following a falling out, but interim boss Michael Carrick may change the situation.
Barcelona want to keep Rashford permanently, and they hold a €30m buy option in his loan agreement.
The English forward has eight goals and 11 assists in 29 games this season, impressing at Camp Nou.
United ‘serious’ about Oyarzabal as long-term target
United are also tracking Sociedad striker Mikel Oyarzabal, who has scored 121 goals in 416 games for the club.

The 28-year-old Spain international has a €75m release clause, with his contract running until June 2028.
Oyarzabal is a lifelong Sociedad fan and has only played for them at senior level, which could complicate any deal.
Still, United see him as a proven scorer and may push for a move this summer if finances allow.
