Man United Sees Staggering Bid For Mbeumo Rejected

Brentford have reportedly rejected Manchester United’s opening bid for Bryan Mbeumo.

On Wednesday night, the Red Devils made their initial offer of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons for the 25-year-old attacker.

According to The Mirror as claimed by the Daily Star, Brentford have informed United that their offer is much less than their transfer valuation, citing the £62.5 million that United paid Wolves for Matheus Cunha as evidence.

The Bees have expressed their belief that Mbeumo should attract a transfer fee comparable to that of the Brazilian forward.

The Cameroonian’s contract has a 12-month extension clause that runs in 2026, so Brentford is under no hurry to sell this summer.

Despite earning only £50k a week at Brentford, Mbeumo reportedly wants £250k per week to join United.

In spite of interest from Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle, the Cameroon international had earlier this week given United the go-ahead to transfer to Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has long liked Mbeumo and believes he is the perfect fit for his system since he can play both at right-wing-back and in one of the No. 10 positions. He has also played in a formation that is similar to the Portuguese’s 3-4-2-1 at Brentford.

The intrigue seems to be fueled by the former Troyes forward’s work ethic and tenacity, as Amorim is eager to include both in his team.
