Manchester United are reportedly considering Aston Villa forward, Ollie Watkins or RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as their striker signing.
According to Manchester Evening News, as the final four weeks of the transfer window draw near, United have made 29-year-old Villa star Watkins their top target, while Sesko, 22, is also being considered.
According to reliable sources, Watkins would be amenable to joining United, who are in need of a new starting striker after spending £133.5 million on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
Sesko is eager to make a big move this summer after turning down United three years ago in favor of Leipzig. The Slovenian has a deal with Leipzig through 2029.

Since discussing a potential transfer in 2022, the Slovenia international’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, has kept in touch with United and visited both Old Trafford and their Carrington training facility.
Despite being in the latter two years of his Villa deal and having played in the Premier League for five years, Watkins will turn 30 on December 30. In 184 Premier League outings, the England international has scored 75 goals.
In each of his five seasons with Villa, the former Brentford striker has started at least 30 Premier League games and missed just seven due to injury.
Ruben Amorim, the head coach of United, said that the team had singled out Cunha and Mbeumo because of their Premier League experience.
In the last three seasons, only Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, and Alexander Isak has scored more league goals than Watkins.
Although Villa were open to Watkins leaving during the winter transfer window, but they ultimately sold Jhon Duran to Al Nassr for £71 million.
For Watkins, Arsenal’s offer of almost £60 million was turned down.
