Michael Carrick will work with the team he took over as head coach of Manchester United, as the club have no intention of adding any new players during the transfer window.
Carrick, 44, topped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ruud van Nistelrooy to be named as Old Trafford’s head coach on Tuesday through the end of the current campaign.
Carrick will serve as an interim successor for the fired Ruben Amorim until a permanent appointment is made this summer.
The former Middlesborough head coach will be expected to work with the players available to him despite United’s recent slump in performance, as they have only won once in their past seven games across all competitions.
