Man United midfielder Jack Fletcher has received a six-match suspension after admitting to a misconduct charge relating to discriminatory language.
The incident occurred during an EFL Trophy fixture against Barnsley in October, where the 18-year-old scored before being sent off in the 63rd minute.

The Football Association confirmed the charge constituted an aggravated breach due to a reference to sexual orientation. Fletcher accepted the charge and opted for a paper hearing.
In addition to the six-game ban, the young midfielder has been fined £1,500 and ordered to complete an education programme.
The FA statement outlined the breach under Rule E3.1, confirming the aggravated nature of the offence under Rule E3.2.
Apology Issued Following FA Verdict
Manchester United released a statement acknowledging the decision and confirming Fletcher had apologised for the language used during what was described as a heated exchange.
Fletcher also issued a personal apology, stating he was “truly sorry” and recognised that such language is unacceptable. He stressed that the comment does not reflect his beliefs or values.
The teenager has featured for United’s Under-21s and made three Premier League appearances this season, marking a breakthrough campaign at senior level, reports Give Me Sport.
The suspension now halts that momentum, with the midfielder set to miss six fixtures across domestic competitions as part of the disciplinary ruling.
