Manchester United are have reportedly turned their attention towards signing RB Leipzig midfielder, Xavi Simons amid looking to find an endpoint to their negotiations with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils got off to a fast start this summer by announcing in early June that they had reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers to acquire Matheus Cunha.
However, since then, negotiations for their next top target, Mbeumo, have slowed down considerably at Old Trafford.
In order to finally end this phase of the transfer season and move on to new objectives, Ruben Amorim’s team will hope that their third bid of £70 million for the Brentford player would be sufficient.

Man United In Competition With Chelsea And Bayern For Simons
According to Sport, which was cited by FourFourTwo, Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have expressed interest in signing Simons. The English teams have spoken with Simons’ representatives.
According to the same report, Simons is eager for a fresh challenge this summer away from Leipzig.
Cost is reportedly a stumbling block; Sport earlier reported an asking price of €70 million, which comes after numerous rumors that the Red Devils are depending on player sales to increase their budget if and when the Mbeumo deal is finalized.
According to reports, the 22-year-old’s agents recently spoke with Barcelona sporting director Deco, who represents the Catalan club, Simons played a major part of his formative career with.
However, the Spanish newspaper calls a deal to bring the Dutchman to Camp Nou “extremely complicated.”
