Man United Identify Baleba Alternative As £26M-Rated Midfielder Touted For Move

Manchester United are reportedly set to return to action when they visit Fulham on Sunday.

Ruben Amorim’s side may have lost their Premier League opener, against Arsenal, but there were many things the Reds could learn from the performance going forward.

Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha both made excellent debuts, and the back three didn’t make many mistakes against a formidable Arsenal lineup.

Altay Bayindir, the backup goalkeeper, would have been annoyed with his part in the goal which was scored by Riccardo Calafiori.

United could be actively seeking to bolster their team in the meantime, with a new midfielder and a goalkeeper likely to be their top targets.

After acknowledging that they do not have the funds needed to secure Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder, Carlos Baleba, it appears United may have found a far less expensive option.

According to Orgullobiri Sevilla as claimed by Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are pursuing Lucien Agoume.

Although the La Liga outfit are open to accepting a lower offer, they will not allow him to depart for less than £26 million because he has a £35 million release clause in his Sevilla contract.

“Manchester United are coming,” according to the article, although other unidentified Premier League teams are also reportedly interested.

United are also said to be interested in Sporting CP midfielder, Morten Hjulmand, who has a release clause in the region of £69million in his contract at the Portuguese club.
