Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is edging closer to a surprising exit, with a move to Turkey reportedly imminent.
The 29-year-old Cameroon international has struggled since his £47million transfer from Inter Milan in 2023, failing to deliver consistent performances.
Onana’s Old Trafford career has been marred by high-profile mistakes and injuries, including a hamstring issue in pre-season this summer.
With new manager Ruben Amorim preferring Altay Bayindir in the Premier League, Onana has been left sidelined, reports Four Four Two.
His only outing this season came during United’s shock Carabao Cup defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town.
Trabzonspor Offer Lifeline
Reports from Fabrizio Romano confirm Onana is set to join Trabzonspor on loan before the Turkish transfer window closes Friday.
The move follows Trabzonspor’s sale of Ugurcan Cakir to Galatasaray, leaving them in urgent need of a new first-choice keeper.
What makes the deal remarkable is that Trabzonspor will cover Onana’s full Manchester United wages.

In addition, he will reportedly earn lucrative bonuses and a signing-on fee that could double his current salary.
Manchester United, however, will not receive a loan fee and there is no buy option included in the agreement.
For Onana, the switch provides an opportunity for regular football ahead of Cameroon’s AFCON campaign in late 2025.
Meanwhile, new signing Senne Lammens is expected to become Amorim’s preferred No.1 goalkeeper at Old Trafford.
Onana’s value has plummeted from €40m to €25m, but this Turkish lifeline offers him a career reset.
