Man United Give Perfect Response To Keane Following Brutal Swipe At Coach

Manchester United seem to have replied to the response of former captain Roy Keane’s harsh remarks over the club’s employment of Jonny Evans.

Evans is now a member of Michael Carrick’s coaching staff at United.

Only a few months had passed since he quit his position as loan manager when he was appointed. .

Keane has questioned his decision to join Steve Holland, Jonathan Woodgate, and Travis Binnion on the coaching staff until the conclusion of the season.

But a few days after the former midfielder’s live remarks on Sky Sports, United posted a video of Harry Maguire, who was also singled out by Keane for criticism, praising Evans on social media. Before rejoining United, the two central defenders were teammates at Leicester City.

In a clip posted on X by United and cited by Manchester Evening News, Maguire said: “He’s a great guy, he’s really calm, a real good player.

“When I speak about underrated players, I’d say Jonny for me was probably the most underrated player I have ever played with.”

Between now until the end of the season, United will be hoping that Evans can impart his wisdom to the defenders on the training field. However, Keane had some concerns about his appointment.

Keane Questions Man United’s Decision To Appoint Evans

Speaking on Sky Sports before the 2-0 Manchester Derby win, Keane said: “Jonny Evans rocks up, they’ve signed him twice.

“It’s not an issue with Jonny Evans, it’s an issue with the club and the decision-making, who they’re bringing in.

“Jonny Evans left Man United four or five weeks ago. He left as a summer player and started as a loans manager. He wasn’t there ten years doing it. A few months.

“My issue with Jonny is he’s got no coaching. It’s not as if he worked in the academy for a few years.”
