With growing doubts surrounding Onana, United are actively searching for a reliable new shot-stopper in this summer’s transfer market.

Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin have both been shortlisted, alongside Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.

However, Sports Mole reports Lucas Chevalier has now emerged as a serious option being considered by the Manchester club.

A proposed move for Martinez appears to have cooled, with Atletico Madrid also targeting the Argentine as Oblak’s replacement.

Meanwhile, speculation linking Man United Onana to Monaco lacks momentum, as the French club are reportedly not pursuing him actively this summer.

Despite his desire to remain at Old Trafford, Onana’s high-profile mistakes have undermined confidence in his long-term role.

Chevalier, a product of Lille’s youth academy, made his debut in 2021 and has become a regular presence for the Ligue 1 side.

In the 2024-25 season, he impressed with 13 clean sheets in 48 appearances, drawing attention from top European clubs.

The 23-year-old’s valuation stands at £25.6 million, a potentially reasonable figure for a promising, consistent goalkeeper with room to grow.
