Man United Dealt Heavy Blow Over Hopes Of Cashing In On Sancho

Manchester United have reportedly been dealt a major blow over their hopes of cashing in on Jadon Sancho this summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, the 25-year-old has been told that a return to Borussia Dortmund this summer is unlikely to happen.

The England international spent four years at Dortmund, where he flourished, earning a £73 million transfer to Old Trafford in 2021.

Last year, he came back on loan and made an impact as the German team advanced to the Champions League final.

After faltering at United and failing to bounce back from his public spat with former manager Erik Ten Hag, Sancho is looking to revitalize his career.

Chelsea had the chance to sign him permanently this summer for £25 million after he was put out on loan to the Blues last season, but they chose to pay £5 million to void the deal, and Sancho returned to Old Trafford.

Dortmund will not give the England international a way out of Manchester, despite his prior success in Germany.

Sebastien Kehl, the club’s sporting director, denied a transfer on Wednesday.

He said: “Of course, there’s always some kind of contact with Jadon because of the long history we share, but at the moment, Jadon is not a topic for us.”

Bild claims that Dortmund cannot afford the winger’s pay, which is estimated to be between £15.3 million and £17 million annually.

United hopes to cash in on the player they paid a lot of money for four years ago, but Dortmund’s hesitation is a setback.

Sancho, meanwhile, has been linked to three Premier League teams.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are all said to be monitoring his situation at the club.
