Nottingham Forest are set to play hardball over Elliot Anderson’s future, with the club believing that the 22-year-old is on track to become the next £100 million English superstar, according to The Telegraph.
The midfielder has developed as one of the Premier League’s most crucial players this season, and Forest have made it clear that they will reject any deal in January, no matter how substantial.
Manchester United and Newcastle United, Anderson’s former club, are rumored to be interested in the brilliant midfielder.
Nottingham Forest has no wish to sell Anderson.
However, Forest maintains a hard attitude. Anderson is crucial to their long-term sporting vision, therefore any talks about his future will be postponed until at least the summer, if they happen at all.
Forest signed the England international from Newcastle in July 2024 for roughly £15 million, taking advantage of Newcastle’s need to raise funds under the Premier League’s rigorous Profit & Sustainability regulations.

That decision has proven to be one of the most strategic and significant transfers of the past year.
Importantly, Anderson’s five-year contract does not include any buy-back, sell-on, or performance-based stipulations for Newcastle. Forest has full control over his future.
England boss Thomas Tuchel praised the midfielder’s development:
“He is one of the top midfielders in the Premier League, which is why he’s here and starting for us.
“He deserves it since he has done nothing but impress. He has to keep going now. He is a highly complete and mobile midfielder, and he continues to demonstrate this.
“He is an excellent player with the appropriate mindset and plenty of talent. He is performing his duties to the best of his ability, and we are quite pleased with him.”
