Manchester City will listen to offers for Jack Grealish this summer, but his £300,000 per week salary may derail a permanent exit, amid links with Newcastle and interest from Everton.
The 29-year-old joined City from Aston Villa for a club-record deal of £100m in 2021, but has found consistent minutes hard to come by this season.
Jeremy Doku is already ahead of Grealish in the pecking order, and the England star has started only seven Premier League games this season, which is why City are willing to contemplate a move.
A move away from the Etihad may also be beneficial to Grealish’s career. He will want to make sure he makes England’s 2026 World Cup squad after being dropped by Thomas Tuchel.

According to the Daily Star, ‘talks between Pep Guardiola and Grealish have revealed that a fresh start someplace else would benefit all sides.’
While City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak will be ‘eager to reclaim a big piece of what it cost his club to sign Grealish in the first place’, a loan move is the most likely outcome due to his exorbitant salaries.
We could thus see a situation similar to what we saw with Manchester United wingers Antony and Jadon Sancho this summer, when they desperately tried to sell them but were forced to sanction season-long loan deals to Real Betis and Chelsea, respectively, because no one would match their huge salaries.
Newcastle, Grealish links downplayed; Everton is a team to watch.
Newcastle have previously associated with Grealish, and the lack of a transfer cost may pique Eddie Howe’s interest as he seeks to construct a Champions League-ready group.
According to The Manchester Evening News, the Magpies are ‘not currently interested in pursuing a transfer for Grealish given the options they possess in his position, as well as budgetary considerations.’
Everton, as we have frequently reported, is looking for new wingers, and with Jack Harrison one of the departees, their search is set to intensify in the coming weeks.
Harrison usually plays on the right wing and Grealish on the left, but David Moyes like to bring in players with Premier League experience, which Grealish has in abundance.
