Man City Star Signs New Deal That Could Keep Him At Club For 10 Years

Ruben Dias has reportedly signed a new four-year deal that could potentially keep him at Manchester City for 10 years.

Dias would see his time with the Blues span to a decade if he fulfills the option of an additional year under the current contract.

After Vincent Kompany left the Manchester side and they surrendered the Premier League title to Liverpool, the City defence had been too fragile the year before Dias joined in 2020.

The Portugal international was a key member of the squad that completed the Treble in 2023 and won four consecutive league titles.

Dias has been viewed as a key component of the team’s future despite his injury issues last season, which limited his contribution.

This summer, contract negotiations were successful in securing a player whose deal was set to expire in 2027.

What Did Dias Say About His Contract Renewal At Man City?

“I am incredibly happy today. I’m so proud to represent this great club,” the 28-year-old said as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“City are where I want to be – at the top of the sport, competing for trophies.

“The club’s ambition aligns perfectly with mine and as a footballer there is nothing better than that.

“I love Manchester – it is my home now – and I love the Manchester City fans. Their support from day one has been absolutely unbelievable, and I appreciate them a lot.

“When I think about the trophies we have won and the way we have played our football during my time here, I couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else.

“My job now is to be the best I can be for the duration of this contract, so that I can play my part in helping us challenge for more silverware.”
