Man City Keeping Tabs On Forward Seen As Haaland Back-Up

Manchester City are reportedly watching FC Koln forward, Said El Mala and it has been stated that Pep Guardiola personally admires him.

According to a report from Sky Sports the Cityzens are keeping a close eye on FC Koln attacker given that Pep has been impressed with the 19-year-old after watching a number of videos and recordings.

Although City scouts have lately attended the Bundesliga team’s games to watch the young player’s exploits, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also been mentioned as possible suitors, so there may be competition for his signature.

Koln are in a good bargaining position, having renewed the teenager’s contract until 2030, which places them in an advantageous position to request over €40m (£35m), and the player himself isn’t in a hurry to leave.

El Mala Hailed As A Flamboyant Player

Hailed as a “flamboyant” winger by scout Jacek Kulig, it is no surprise that the German teenager is receiving so much interest, having done quite well in the Bundesliga so far this season, scored four goals and scooping two assists in ten matches.

However, as this is the Koln star’s first Bundesliga season, it is still extremely early to tell if he will be able to contribute right away at Man City in the quest for the title.

El Mala might be a future star, but there have been positive indications lately that Guardiola can rely on some of his other attackers to help Haaland.
