A man arrested on the suspicion of racially abusing Antoine Semenyo during Bournemouth’s Premier League opener against defending champions, Liverpool has reportedly been granted a conditional bail on Monday.
According to the Daily Mail, the Merseyside Police stated that the Liverpool fan, 47, is prohibited from going within one mile (1.6 kilometers) of a British soccer stadium while on bail.
In the first half of Bournemouth’s match against Liverpool at Anfield on Friday, Semenyo, who is Black, told the referee that he had been subjected to racial abuse by a supporter.
The man was then taken into custody on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order violation. Soon after the alleged incident, the man was taken out of the stadium, causing play to temporarily halt.
