The 32-year-old is having one of his best seasons at Anfield, scoring 23 goals in 25 Premier League appearances and adding 14 assists.

Salah’s torrid form has helped the Reds to a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, which they might extend against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Aside from Salah’s on-field performance, one of the most talked-about topics this season has been his long-term future on Merseyside.

Out of contract at the end of the season, like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Egyptian is yet to agree to new terms with Liverpool and could leave at the conclusion of the season due to interest from the Saudi Pro League.

That is a scenario. Diaz does not want this to happen, pressing his employers to urge Salah to sign new contracts, reports 90 min.

“I have said this before. “They are extremely important to us,” Diaz told Telemundo.

“It’s up to the club, but I hope they stay because what they contribute to the squad is outstanding.

What they have accomplished and what they have won. They won’t settle for less.
