Liverpool are preparing an £86 million double deal for two Barcelona players after Arne Slot gave the Reds permission to pursue the duo, according to sources.
The Reds got a head start on the summer transfer window, with the Liverpool management backing Slot in the market after he won the Premier League title in his first season in charge.
His early transfer window success resulted in the signings of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, as well as Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman in goal.
Liverpool are still believed to be looking for further players, with speculations circulating that they want a central defender, central midfielder, and a striker.

According to Spanish daily Fichajes, Liverpool is ‘preparing to spend €100m (£86m) to buy two Barcelona stars’ this summer.
The Reds are ‘already working on a strong offer’ for the two, with €20 million earmarked for Christensen and another €80 million set aside for Fermin.
Slot ‘believes both players are a perfect fit for his new vision, and Anfield hasn’t hesitated to make a bold move to win over the Blaugrana board’.
The emergence of new players in his position has ‘created uncertainty’ regarding Fermin’s future at Barcelona, and his potential ‘has not gone unnoticed’ in the Premier League.
Tim Steidten, Leverkusen’s former head of scouting who helped sign him at the German club, is confident that Wirtz will be a success at Anfield this season after his first talk with the Germany international.
Steidten stated, “Many people question me if he would be able to establish himself in Liverpool.
