Liverpool Taking Final Steps To Seal £169M Double Deal

Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to completing the signings of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz and Bournemouth defender, Milos Kerkez.

After Arne Slot’s team won the Premier League title in the Dutchman’s debut season, the Reds have jumped right out of the blocks in the summer transfer window.

With their early Champions League qualification, which gave them access to their budget before any other Premier League team, Liverpool are now hoping to build on that achievement.

Last week, it was reported that they had signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen as their first summer acquisition.

The Netherlands international will take Trent Alexander-Arnold’s place, who is headed to Real Madrid.

According to Football 365, two more players are expected to join Frimpong at Anfield; Wirtz of Leverkusen and Kerkez of Bournemouth.

Due to Andy Robertson’s lackluster play under Slot, Liverpool are trying to strengthen their left-back position, which has become one of their weak points this season.

Journalist Rudy Galetti has now asserted that Liverpool are “finalizing” their pursuit of Kerkez, with the Hungary international expected to sign for €50 million (£42 million).

Additionally, according to the German newspaper Bild, Wirtz “has already agreed terms” on a deal with Liverpool that runs until 2030. The two teams only need to agree on a fee.

The “deal could ultimately amount to a sum between 140 and the 150 million euros (£118m-£127m) demanded by Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro,” according to what is known.
