According to rumors, Liverpool has made a’significant bid’ to sign an FC Barcelona player as a replacement for Crystal Palace outstanding Marc Guehi.
Liverpool had an almost faultless summer transfer window, spending £414.5 million on many major signings as Europe’s highest-spending team.
Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong were their most significant additions, although the Reds suffered a setback on deadline day.
This happened as they missed out on Guehi after reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace on a reputed £35 million deal, which was called off after failing to find a suitable alternative.
Liverpool is now short at the back, and an injury to Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konate would be disastrous.

Liverpool is also at risk of missing out on Guehi entirely, as the talented centre-back is one of the most valuable footballers set to become a free agency in 2026, prompting attention from various European and Premier League clubs.
This means Liverpool may need to look for a substitute, and they have been connected with Barcelona star Ronald Araujo.
According to Spanish newspaper Fichajes, Liverpool has made a’significant offer’ for the Uruguay international, worth around 50 million euros (£43 million).
“I was surprised Liverpool didn’t have more competition over the summer,” Brown told Football Insider.
“So now we have all of these clubs interested in him and expecting to make offers when he becomes available for free, which is not surprising to anyone.
“He is England’s first-choice centre-back and has years of experience in the Premier League, so he would help whichever side ends up obtaining him.
