Liverpool winger, Luis Diaz has reportedly informed the club about his decision to join Barcelona ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Colombian ace, under contract with Liverpool for two more years, is considered by Deco and Hansi Flick as a preferable choice over Marcus Rashford and Nico Williams.
In truth, the 28-year-old forward has been the Barca director’s primary target since last season and stands at the top of the list.
Mundo Deportivo now claims that Diaz’s shared desire to joining the Catalan giants for the upcoming season is what favors Barcelona.
The Colombian is actively trying to make it possible to leave Liverpool for Barca, and he is fully aware of the club’s desire to sign him.
Diaz has begun to stir things up at Anfield with his agent. His intention to depart was made evident when he initially rejected Liverpool’s attempt to start negotiations on a renewal. With two years remaining on his contract, Liverpool must decide whether to sell or extend his stay.
Apart from declining a contract extension, Diaz’s representative has communicated to Liverpool that the player plans to leave this summer in order to sign with Barcelona.
Furthermore, because joining the Spanish giants is obviously his top priority, Diaz has even rejected a sizable offer from Saudi Arabia, notably from Al-Nassr.
With Deco’s support, the 28-year-old is driven to participate in Flick’s project. The prospect of playing with Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski at Barca and being a part of a successful project excites him.
