Liverpool’s late move for Marc Guehi collapsed on deadline day, but the club already have long-term defensive plans in place.
Reports claim Liverpool will re-sign Jarell Quansah in 2027 thanks to a buy-back clause included in his Leverkusen move.
The 22-year-old left Anfield this summer for £35m but could return for £51m halfway through his contract in Germany.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Quansah has already agreed personal terms on a future improved contract with the Reds.
Quansah scored on his debut for Bayer Leverkusen and has impressed despite uncertainty following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.
The defender described Liverpool as “family” in his farewell, thanking teammates, staff, and supporters for shaping his career.
He added that Anfield would always hold a special place in his heart after 17 years with the club, reports Mirror.
Liverpool’s Defensive Future Secured
While Guehi was a top target, Liverpool’s 2027 option ensures they have a strong plan for defensive reinforcements.
