Liverpool Receive Major Boost In Alexander Isak Pursuit

Liverpool’s hopes of signing Newcastle forward Alexander Isak have increased after Brentford agreed a £42.5m deal for Bournemouth’s Dango Ouattara.

The Reds are seeking attacking reinforcements following the exits of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, and the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.

Isak is Liverpool’s primary target, but an earlier £110m bid was rejected, with Newcastle initially determined to keep the Swedish international forward.

However, Newcastle may now soften their stance if they secure replacements, especially after Isak missed pre-season due to a muscle injury, reports reports Echo.

The Magpies have been pursuing several forwards this summer, though their efforts to land Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Hugo Ekitike failed.

Benjamin Sesko also rejected a move, forcing Newcastle to explore other options, with Brentford striker Yoane Wissa now among their priorities.

Wissa’s move would only happen after Brentford complete the Ouattara deal, which now appears close to being finalised between the two clubs.

Chain Reaction Could Open Door For Isak To Join Liverpool

If Newcastle sign Wissa, Isak could be allowed to leave, paving the way for Liverpool to finalise their dream signing before deadline day.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is reportedly eager to secure the prolific striker, who scored 21 goals in all competitions last season.

The transfer window closes on September 1, leaving Liverpool with a limited window to complete negotiations and add Isak to their attacking options.
