Liverpool Plot Isak–Nunez Swap As Newcastle Weigh Options

Liverpool’s pursuit of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has taken a dramatic turn, with a potential swap deal involving Darwin Nunez now being considered.

Isak has reportedly told Newcastle he wants to explore new opportunities, and Liverpool are ready to make a move.

The Swedish striker, valued at £150 million, missed Newcastle’s pre-season tour due to a supposed thigh injury, though speculation suggests his absence relates to ongoing transfer discussions.

Liverpool view Isak as a long-term replacement for Darwin Nunez, who could head to St. James’ Park as part of the deal.

The Reds are also preparing to reshape their attack following Luis Diaz’s exit to Bayern Munich.

Pearce: Nunez Could Be a Fan Favourite At Newcastle

Former Newcastle defender Stuart Pearce believes the potential swap would benefit both clubs.

Speaking to ChronicleLive, Pearce said, “If Liverpool get Isak, the title race is over.

But if Nunez goes to Newcastle, they’ll have a striker full of energy and potential. He misses chances, but he never stops trying and fans love that.”

Newcastle have offered Isak a £200,000-per-week contract, but manager Eddie Howe admitted his future isn’t fully in his control.

Chronicle Live cited that this transfer could shape both clubs’ seasons dramatically.
