Liverpool, Man City And Arsenal Lead Premier League Clubs In Revenue, Man United Drop To Eighth

Manchester United have reportedly suffered a historic financial setback for the first time in the history of the Deloitte Football Money League plummeting to eighth place and below rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.

The data emphasizes the high cost of their disastrous 2024–25 season, in which they placed 15th and set a new low for the outfit under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazers.

According to Goal, the Big Four accounting firm’s statistics shows that United are now in an unprecedented eighth place, completely out of the top five revenue-generating clubs.

Despite a record turnover of £666.5 million for the 2024–25 season, according to the club’s finances, it was insufficient to compete with their domestic and European rivals.

Given that United have topped this league 10 times in the past, most recently in 2017, the stagnation is especially damning.

Liverpool Top Other English Clubs

Liverpool have become the top-ranked English side, marking a turning point for the Premier League. With a record turnover of £702.3 million, the Merseyside giants went from seventh overall last year to fifth.

They are closely followed by Manchester City, who fell from second to sixth place with earnings of £694.1 million and Arsenal, who remained unchanged in seventh place with £690.2 million.

The Premier League as a whole found the study to be a sobering read. There are no English teams in the top four for the first time since Deloitte started tracking these numbers some 30 years ago.

When compared to the commercial power and European success of continental giants, the sheer amount of broadcast money in England no longer ensures global dominance, indicating a possible change in the financial landscape.
