Liverpool Legend Reveals Private Chat With Salah Amid Saga

Liverpool’s dressing room is presenting a united front despite the ongoing fallout from Mohamed Salah’s explosive post-match comments at Leeds United.

The Egyptian winger was left out of the squad that travelled to Italy, but the Reds still delivered a superb 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s late penalty eased the pressure on Arne Slot, who has been battling a poor run of results alongside an escalating dispute with Salah.

The club’s all-time Premier League top scorer has not started a match since the 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in November, and his claims of a breakdown in his relationship with Slot have only deepened tensions.

While Salah watched from home, former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge revealed he had held private discussions with the 31-year-old star, offering insight into Salah’s mindset.

Speaking on Amazon Prime Video, Sturridge said Salah “loves this football club” and still wants to help Liverpool return to the top.

He believes the forward is hurting and suggested a fresh conversation between Salah and Slot is essential to move forward.

Inside the dressing room, however, Liverpool players insist the mood remains strong. Andy Robertson praised Salah as “one of the greatest players” to represent the club and hopes a resolution can be found.

Szoboszlai echoed that sentiment, emphasising his close friendship with the winger but stressing that the situation is between Salah and the club, reports Mirror.

Curtis Jones also dismissed any suggestion of a split, calling Salah “a legend” and insisting nothing has changed among the players.

Despite the ongoing controversy, Liverpool appear committed to maintaining unity as they push for Champions League progression and Premier League consistency.
