Liverpool have joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the battle to sign Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller.
New Reds boss Arne Slot prioritised midfield reinforcements last summer but failed to land top target Martin Zubimendi, who rejected a move to Anfield.
Instead, Liverpool kept faith in their existing squad, with Ryan Gravenberch stepping up to deliver impressive performances that helped secure the Premier League title.

Despite big summer spending, the Merseyside giants did not recruit a new midfielder, but Slot still wants more depth in his engine room.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd Compete for Stiller
Reports claim Liverpool are closely monitoring Stiller and could move in January, although a summer switch appears more realistic at this stage.
The 24-year-old has a £35m release clause due to activate next year, though Stuttgart can cancel it by paying a small fee.
That situation could complicate negotiations for Liverpool, who are facing strong competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur are also tracking Stiller, while Real Madrid have shown interest but are yet to make a firm approach, reports Football Talk.
Stiller is a technically gifted deep-lying playmaker who has impressed in the Bundesliga and broken into Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany squad.
Still developing at 24, he is not yet the finished article, but his potential makes him an attractive option for Arsenal, Man Utd, or Liverpool.
