Liverpool Handed Major Boost As Midfielder Returns To Training

Liverpool have been handed a timely boost with midfielder Stefan Bajcetic returning to first-team training after three months out injured.

The 20-year-old Spaniard has endured a frustrating spell with injuries since making his breakthrough at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp in the 2022-23 season.

Bajcetic, who joined Liverpool from Celta Vigo in 2020, impressed with his composure and versatility in midfield before setbacks halted his progress.

Last season, he enjoyed a promising loan spell at Las Palmas, starting 11 games and establishing himself as a key player in La Liga.

However, his campaign ended prematurely with a serious hamstring injury that required surgery, ruling him out of the final two matches.

After months of gym-based rehabilitation, Bajcetic has now been spotted back on the training pitch alongside his teammates.

The young midfielder will be keen to impress new Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who is preparing his side for a tricky trip to Burnley on Sunday, reports

Bajcetic previously admitted his disappointment at Las Palmas’ relegation, penning an emotional message of support to their fans after the season ended.

Liverpool supporters, meanwhile, will hope his return can strengthen the squad’s midfield depth as the fixtures begin to pile up, reports Mirror.

He was joined in training by summer signing Jeremie Frimpong, who has also overcome a hamstring issue to rejoin team activities.
