Liverpool Get Guehi January Transfer Hint As Talks Confirmed

Liverpool have reportedly been informed that Crystal Palace may try to cash in on Marc Guehi during the January transfer window as his contract at Selhurst Park is scheduled to expire this summer.

The Reds were on the verge of signing the England international during the previous summer transfer window, but a move to Anfield fell through at the last minute.

The 25-year-old England regular, who is anticipated to depart the Eagles on a free transfer when his contract expires, has been frequently linked to Arne Slot’s team.

However, Liverpool will have to contend with fierce competition for his signature from some of Europe’s top teams.

Sky German states Guehi’s representatives have spoken with Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl, while Premier League rivals Man City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have all reportedly expressed interest in signing him.

According to Liverpool Echo, Mick Brown, a former head scout for Blackburn and Manchester United, reckons Palace will cash in on their captain during the January transfer window in order to avoid losing out on a possible transfer fee.

Crystal Palace Could Be Tempted To Sell Guehi In January

“Palace are in a very difficult situation with Guehi,” he said.

“Glasner obviously doesn’t want to lose him mid-way through the season – as he’s a crucial player, their captain, one of their best players, and so important to everything they do.

“So on the playing side of things, it would be very risky to let him leave in January when they still hold ambitions of pushing up the league table and winning in Europe.

“The problem is, it will be very tempting for the Palace hierarchy to sell.

“As much as Palace won’t want to lose Guehi, I expect they will look at the financial side of things, and think that’s too much money to turn down.”
