Liverpool Fan ‘In Angry Diego Simeone Row’ Breaks Silence On Red Card Mayhem

Liverpool fan who laughed at Diego Simeone’s expense before the Atletico Madrid manager exploded in rage and received his marching orders at Anfield has broken his silence. Virgil van Dijk scored a magnificent last-minute header from a corner kick to give the Premier League champions a heart-stopping 3-2 victory in their first Champions League game of the season.

Arne Slot’s team won for the seventh time in a row thanks to a thrilling late goal. However, not everyone was in a jubilant mood, particularly Argentine manager Simeone, a former midfielder who famously clashed with David Beckham during the England star’s sending-off at the 1998 World Cup.

Simeone retaliated by attacking Liverpool supporters near the away technical area, before being sent a red card and forced to watch the last minutes from the stands.

Previously, the Atletico manager and his team celebrated exuberantly in front of Liverpool fans after a deflected strike brought the Spanish club level at 2-2, despite trailed by two goals early in the game.

Simeone, 55, explained his outburst during his post-match media session by claiming he had been “insulted”. He went on: “They always talk about taking care of each other, but they insult you throughout the entire match and you can’t say anything because you’re the manager.”

His Reaction?

“My reaction was inexcusable, but do you know what it’s like to be abused after 90 minutes, then turn around after the opponent scores and be insulted again? It’s not that simple.

“[The referee] said he understood me. I hope Liverpool can improve that element, and that when they find out who did it, there will be consequences. According To Express News.

“There were insults throughout the game, including gestures. It is evident that I am the one who must remain cool in the face of insults, gestures, and any other situation. Because I’m in a position to put up with it.

“I’m not going to go into the specific nature of the insults. I do not want to get involved in that. I have to continue in my position; I know what happened behind the manager’s bench. and cannot address society’s problems in one news conference. also have to live with it since it is constantly present everywhere.”
