The Reds held initial talks over a potential move for the Nigerian forward last month, signalling serious interest.

Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, has also attracted attention from Manchester United and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

However, the 25-year-old is believed to prefer a switch to the Premier League, placing Liverpool in a strong negotiating position.

Napoli are said to be open to selling Osimhen for around £50 million, a fee that may tempt the Reds given his proven quality.

Osimhen’s pace, physicality, and finishing could offer Liverpool another dimension in attack alongside Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez.

The Reds have already secured Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi, and are in advanced talks for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, reports Echo.

Although today marks the end of the first transfer window phase, business will resume next week and remain open until September 1.

That gives Liverpool ample time to finalize new signings as they prepare to defend their Premier League title under Arne Slot.

With Osimhen eyeing Premier League football, Liverpool’s tactical project and Champions League qualification could be key in winning the striker’s signature.
