Liverpool Enter ‘Fierce’ Race To Sign Bournemouth Centre-Back

According to TEAMtalk, Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen is on Liverpool’s shortlist for a new center-back they hope to recruit in the summer.

In light of Virgil van Dijk’s situation, the Reds are eager to add a new central defender, but they want to do so regardless of their captain’s future.

Huijsen is one of the guys Liverpool is closely monitoring.

The teenager has been outstanding this season since joining Bournemouth from Juventus for about €15 million (£12,5 million, $15.5 million).

In his 18 Premier League games thus far, Huijsen has scored two goals and assisted the Cherries in keeping five clean sheets.

He is one of the main causes of Andoni Iraola’s team’s current seventh-place finish.

Huijsen is a target for Liverpool as well as Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.

He is also being watched by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich outside of England.

Although a return to Italy is not currently being explored, sources claim that Huijsen would be open to joining one of the major teams in Europe.

Since the gifted defender’s contract with Bournemouth expires in 2030, signing him would require a significant financial investment.

Additionally, Juventus has a 10% sell-on provision in his contract, which might increase his asking price.
