According to Spanish website Fichajes, Liverpool is considering a surprise approach to recruit Real Madrid player Eduardo Camavinga to strengthen their midfield under manager Arne Slot.
The Merseyside giants have endured a poor defence of their Premier League crown, trailing 14 points behind leaders Arsenal. The Reds are presently competing for Champions League spots. They are fourth in the standings, but there is a large chasing group attempting to qualify for the European championship next season.
This could prompt Liverpool to spend heavily on a potential reinforcement this winter, and Fichajes claims that the English champions are preparing a bid to sign Camavinga from Madrid. According to reports, the Spanish giants are willing to let the Frenchman go for a fee ranging from £61 million to £69 million.

An unlikely deal
Liverpool spent around £450 million on new players during the summer transfer window. The Reds spent the majority of their summer budget on Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike, but the former has yet to settle in with the club. The Swede is now out due to a leg fracture, although he could return later in the season.
Slot may be looking for another excellent centre-back, since Ibrahima Konate’s contract expires on June 30. A marquee defensive midfielder could also be targeted. Liverpool was on the verge of signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in 2024 until he decided to stay. He joined Arsenal during the last transfer window.
Camavinga, 23, would be an excellent acquisition for the Reds. He has been in and out of Los Blancos’ starting lineup this season, but he has nonetheless impressed with an average of two tackles and 66% duels won. He would compete for positions with Alexis MacAllister and Ryan Gravenberch and has the ability to become a regular in Liverpool’s midfield.
