Liverpool are stepping up their efforts to find a new striker ahead of Darwin Nunez’s likely departure this summer.
The club has identified a Premier League attacker as a top candidate to strengthen their attacking lineup. However, they face heavy competition from Newcastle United, who are also interested on gaining the player’s services.
According to talkSPORT, Liverpool and Newcastle United are both interested in signing Brighton forward Joao Pedro.
The Brazilian forward has wowed a number of clubs this season with his excellent displays.
With 10 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season for the Premier League side, Pedro has demonstrated his talent.
Liverpool would need to pay a premium to sign Pedro.
According to the article, Brighton value Pedro at £100 million, which implies both clubs would have to spend a big transfer fee to lure him to their club.
