Liverpool Agree Darwin Núñez Saudi Move To Buy Alexander Isak

Liverpool have finalized a £53million deal to sell striker Darwin Núñez to Saudi club Al-Hilal, ending his rollercoaster Anfield journey.

Núñez, signed in 2022 for £85million from Benfica, expressed a desire to leave Liverpool, with the Saudi Pro League his preferred destination this summer.

The Uruguay international previously attracted interest in January, but Liverpool delayed his departure until the Premier League title campaign concluded successfully.

Al-Hilal’s confirmed offer includes lucrative performance-related bonuses, ensuring Liverpool could recoup a significant portion of their original investment in Darwin Núñez’s transfer.

The deal follows a rejected approach from Napoli, who failed with a lowball instalment-based bid not beginning until summer 2026.

Liverpool Transfer Strategy Shifts Toward Alexander Isak

Now Liverpool are focused on signing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak as Núñez’s replacement, though they insist they’ll only pay fair market value.

Isak remains unsettled at Newcastle, having skipped their pre-season tour and expressed a clear desire to leave for a bigger club this summer.

According to Daily Mail, the Swedish striker is Liverpool’s top transfer target, with Klopp seeing him as the perfect fit for a refreshed attacking line-up.

Núñez’s departure clears space and funds for this move, while also ending speculation about his long-term role at Anfield.

Despite early promise and fan support, Darwin struggled for consistent form and starts under Jurgen Klopp’s evolving system.

He famously scored on his debut against Fulham and impressed in the Community Shield against Manchester City, raising early hopes.

However, inconsistent finishing and a red card on his Anfield debut derailed his momentum in the 2022–23 season.

Still, his double against Brentford was vital in Liverpool’s title push, proving his ability to deliver in key moments.

Liverpool fans will watch closely as the club pursues Isak, hoping to rebuild their attack with smart, high-impact transfers this summer.
