Gary Lineker reportedly implied in a hilarious remark that Kobbie Mainoo, a midfielder for Manchester United, might think about suing former boss Ruben Amorim.
After battling for playing time under the Portuguese coach, the England international’s career has taken a turn for the better under Michael Carrick.
The former Match of the Day broadcaster made the jocular remark after Mainoo delivered another outstanding performance in a United victory against Tottenham Hotspur, extending the Red Devils’ winning streak to four games.
The 20-year-old was about to leave Old Trafford in pursuit of consistent first-team play, but after reaffirming his worth to the squad, he is now on the approach of signing a new deal at the Theatre of Dreams.
According to Manchester Evening News, Lineker joked that Mainoo might consider suing Amorim, implying that the midfielder’s exclusion from the starting lineup had been detrimental.
