Leroy Sane Caught In Oktoberfest Clash After Fan Taunts In Munich

Leroy Sane’s return to Munich for Oktoberfest ended in chaos after the Galatasaray star was reportedly involved in a fight with fans who taunted him.

The 29-year-old, formerly of Manchester City and Bayern Munich, had been enjoying the festival before tensions flared late on Sunday night.

Witnesses claim Sane was provoked by chants of “Scheiß Gala” — “Sh***y Galatasaray” — from a table of Bayern supporters as he passed through the Weinzelt tent.

Sane admitted that he reacted emotionally after feeling “personally humiliated” and seeing his new club insulted, reports Mirror.

“I was provoked and personally humiliated for a long time,” Sane told Bild.

“In the tense atmosphere, I was pushed, and a brief fight broke out. I should have stayed calm and ignored it — I’ve learned from it.”

Security Quickly Intervenes

Reports suggest some of the taunts may have crossed into racist territory, prompting Sane to confront one of the fans.

A short scuffle followed before security stepped in to break up the altercation.

Sane left Bayern in the summer to join Galatasaray after five years in Munich, where he made 48 appearances under Vincent Kompany last season.

He has one goal and three assists in nine games so far in Turkey, helping Gala top the Super Lig standings.

Sane’s incident cast a shadow over his Munich homecoming — one he’ll be eager to move past quickly.
