Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has voiced his displeasure following the dismissal of manager Hansi Flick against Girona at the General Assembly over the weekend.
Referee Gil Manzano sent out the German tactician during Barça’s hard-fought 2-1 victory against Girona this past Saturday after he received two consecutive yellow cards.
Flick received his first warning for criticizing a referee’s call during the match, and shortly after, he received his second yellow card for complaining to the addition of just four minutes, amid multiple stoppages in the second half.
He won’t be on the touchline when Barça play Real Madrid this weekend as a result.

Laporta Livid Over Flick Red Card
One of the club’s representatives at the assembly on Sunday questioned Laporta about whether referee Gil Manzano’s officiating during the game was the result of a “white hand.”
“Are you talking about a white hand? If there isn’t one, it looks very similar. Our coach won’t be there for the next match, although the club is going to appeal Hansi Flick’s suspension,” said the president, as quoted by SPORT.
Laporta was particularly angered because “the referee went too far when he showed the yellow card and waited for our coach to react. It will be difficult to get the cards rescinded.”
The Barcelona president stated further: “I didn’t like the referee’s attitude. This man has sent off almost all of our star players. You only have to look at his record with us.
“Something always happens. It just so happens that it’s before a match that will decide the league leadership.”
