Lamine Yamal Breaks Kylian Mbappe’s Championship League Record By Scoring For Barcelona vs Copenhagen

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal added a couple more records to his tally on Wednesday night, scoring and assisting in the Champions League victory over Copenhagen.

Yamal’s strike makes him the youngest player to score eight goals in the Champions League at the age of 18 years and 199 days, surpassing Mbappe’s previous record (18 years and 302 days), according to Mister Chip.

It is not the first time Yamal has grabbed a record from Mbappe. Last season, at the age of 17 years and 291 days, the Barcelona teenager made history as the youngest player to score in a Champions League semifinal.Reported On X.

Yamal’s performance against Copenhagen also marked his third Champions League goal and assist. For the time being, he and Mbappe share that record.

Yamal now has 13 goals and 13 assists in 28 games across all competitions this season for Hansi Flick’s team.

His effort on Wednesday night was also crucial as Barcelona finished in the top eight of the Champions League and advanced to the competition’s last 16.
