Keane Labels Liverpool ‘Irritating And Lacking Class’

Roy Keane has reportedly revealed his disgust following Liverpool’s lacklustre approach on the pitch after winning the Premier League title.

The Reds defeated Tottenham 5-1 in April to secure the top spot, but they haven’t won a league game since.

Most recently, Arne Slot’s team wasted a 2-1 lead in a 3-2 loss to Brighton, lost 3-1 against Chelsea, and only achieved a 2-2 draw against Arsenal despite leading by two goals.

The games have not been reflective of a club that, upon winning the title, had only lost two games all season.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the speed at which Slot’s side have downed tools has not impressed Manchester United legend Keane.

“Liverpool have switched off – they’re irritating me,” he said. “It doesn’t matter [that they’ve won the league], but the fringe players and the B team are coming in – what kind of message is that?

“I’m thinking come on – show a bit of class. [Mohamed] Salah scores a goal, and he’s taking pictures – the game’s still on. Liven up a little bit!”

Salah did take a photo with the Kop, but it was during an upbeat mood at Anfield after he scored to make it 4-1 against Spurs, effectively securing Liverpool’s title.

Slot then adjusted his team’s lineup for the games against Brighton and Chelsea as many supporters saw these less important games as opportunities to watch the team in action.

The Reds and Arsenal faced off in a fiercely contested match that ended in a draw that many felt was well-earned.
