Liverpool confronts a difficult Champions League assignment today, travelling to France to face Marseille.
The Reds are still struggling to get their season back on track following a difficult first half of the season that saw them lose their Premier League title.
Liverpool’s European results have been better than those in the Premier League, with Arne Slot’s side winning four of six games.
With only one game remaining, a win over Marseille would propel the club into the Champions League’s top eight. According To Liverpool News.
That game is against Qarabag at home, so if Liverpool wins tonight, Slot will be confident of finishing in the top eight, avoiding a potentially difficult play-off to advance to the competition’s last 16.

However, given the talent available to Roberto De Zerbi in southern France, defeating Marseille will be difficult.
Among them is Ligue 1’s leading scorer, Mason Greenwood, who has 20 goals and six assists in 26 games across all competitions this season.
Jurgen Klopp, former Liverpool manager, acknowledged Greenwood’s potential on the pitch ahead of a Premier League encounter between Liverpool and Manchester United in 2021, while Greenwood was still in the picture at Old Trafford.
Klopp asked, “Mason, Greenwood?” Wow. What a talent he is. I believe he may have pushed Jadon Sancho out of place. Mason can play in the centre, but there is no more space, so they may have to share. It’s a problem that every manager wants to have.
“He’s a very good manager, it’s not always fair to judge managers only on what they win, the style of play should also be very important as well, in my opinion, and the development of players.”That’s what you see with him: players develop really well, and then when he departs, they’re not as good as they were with him, which usually tells me how good a manager you are.”
