Jamie Carragher Sends Brutal Man Utd Message Before Mohamed Salah Rubs Salt Into Wounds

Jamie Carragher kicked Manchester United when they were down, and another Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah added salt to their wounds. United’s terrible season came to an end last night when they lost the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Already destined to the club’s lowest domestic finish since their relegation from the then-First Division in 1974, the Red Devils had a chance to salvage something from their disastrous season at San Mames Stadium.

Instead, United, who last month watched bitter rivals Liverpool equal their record of 20 top-flight English league titles, delivered another poor performance in Bilbao.

Brennan Johnson’s scruffy 42nd-minute goal settled the final, ending Tottenham’s 17-year trophy drought and securing a place in the 2025-26 Champions League.

Ruben Amorim’s side, on the other hand, will miss out on European action for the rest of the season following the disappointing 1-0 defeat. According To Echo News.

And Carragher, who won the Europa League with Liverpool in 2001, was quick to react, writing on X: “Lads, it’s Man United!”

That was a play on the notorious ‘Lads, it’s Spurs’ line said by legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson before his team faced Tottenham.

It is a term that, along with ‘Spursy’, has followed the North London group through the years.

However, since Ange Postecoglou fulfilled his vow to win silverware ‘always’ in his second season at a club, Tottenham can put those platitudes to rest.

Even Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah was pleased by Spurs’ daring manager, surprisingly tweeting seven minutes after Carragher: “He did claim he’d win in his second season. Congratulations!”

Meanwhile, Manchester United will play Champions League contenders Aston Villa, knowing that failure would leave them fourth from bottom.
