Isak ‘Training Away From Newcastle Squad’ Amid Liverpool Interest

Alexander Isak is reportedly training away from the rest of Newcastle United squad in huge transfer boost for Liverpool.

The Swedish forward has been linked to moves to Liverpool and Al-Hilal, and if the Magpies decide to sell, a number of other elite teams are likely to become interested.

Isak is currently not for sale at any price this summer, according to Newcastle. However, there are allegedly mounting concerns that Liverpool’s recent approach, which sought to discuss a £120 million deal with the Toon, may have turned his head.

The fact that the 25-year-old was training all by himself on Tuesday, just days after being left out of a preseason loss to Celtic, may have alarmed Newcastle supporters.

According to Newcastle World as reported by the Daily Express, Isak was put through his paces separately after experiencing some thigh soreness.

The Sweden international had to have a scan since the problem was so painful, and even though the results were clear, Magpies coaches kept him apart from the team as a precaution.

The move follows Liverpool receiving a fresh transfer boost as a result of rumors circulating behind the scenes regarding Isak’s contract negotiations.

Isak Asking For £300k Weekly Wage

According to talkSPORT, the 25-year-old is now wanting £300,000 per week, which would completely sever Newcastle’s current wage structure, despite having been given a pay increase last year.

Liverpool are one of the few teams who could afford such an enormous expense, which is concerning for Eddie Howe.

Hugo Ekitike, the new addition, is thought to have agreed to a similar weekly salary with the Reds, which is around £250,000.

Before Liverpool intervened to impede the deal, Newcastle were negotiating with Ekitike directly.
