Isak Returns To Former Club As Agreement With Liverpool Reached

Alexander Isak has reportedly returned back to Real Sociedad following his unresolved future with Newcastle United.

Liverpool’s interest in Isak has caused his transfer drama to intensify. The Reds have already made a huge acquisition this summer, breaking their record deal for Florian Wirtz. But they may still be able to acquire the striker as Newcastle United fans’ concerns appear to be mounting.

After returning home from the Toons’ camp in Scotland and failing to go to the Far East, the Magpies’ record-breaking acquisition, who cost £63 million from Sociedad, is still up in the air.

Despite ‘wishing’ he would stay, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has acknowledged that he has little control over the talismanic striker’s future.

According to Sky Sports, the Swede is at the La Liga team’s modern Zubieta training camp, and the Magpies’ top brass are reportedly aware of the striker’s location.

Newcastle claim that the player was unable to travel because of a “minor thigh injury,” yet it appears that he was able to make the trip to northern Spain.

Isak Has Reached An Agreement With Liverpool

Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Sky Sports Germany, said on Tuesday that Isak and the Reds had already verbally agreed to a six-year contract.

He went on to say that the two clubs are in contact with the Sweden international, who hopes to join Anfield as early as this summer window.

Benjamin Sesko, a 22-year-old forward for RB Leipzig, is said to be a target for Newcastle, although Manchester United will compete for the Slovenia international’s services.

Similarly, Howe’s side are interested in Yoane Wissa, but so far this transfer window, it has been challenging to reach an agreement with Brentford.
