Alexander Isak has reportedly indicated that he has no intention of playing for Newcastle United again after seeing the club’s promise for him to leave this summer broken.
Liverpool showed interest after the Swede stated that he wanted to play elsewhere this season, but the people at St James’ Park have stated they will not sell under any circumstances.
According to The Mirror, Isak does not want to be reintegrated, and he is now training apart from the rest of the team.
That was Eddie Howe’s plan, but Isak is still upset about how last year’s contract drama transpired. Despite his continuous success at Newcastle and his current ranking as one of Europe’s top attackers, the striker was not offered a new contract last season.

Newcastle Promised Isak A Lucrative Contract
Isak’s efforts were rewarded when former director and minority co-owner Amanda Staveley pledged that he and the club would meet to consider a new agreement. But before both sides could reach the negotiation table, she had departed.
Isak wasn’t pleased when Paul Mitchell, the new sporting director, abruptly broke that promise. He noted the necessity to continue adhering to PSR regulations, but Anthony Gordon signed a new long-term contract in October of last year.
Isak made it plain that this would be his last season with Newcastle, even though he was already on a lucrative contract that would expire in 2028 and an extension was not considered urgent. Some club members simply push back talks, denying that was the message.
According to The Athletic, the striker expressed his desire to leave two weeks before the season’s conclusion. He reiterated this in a call to the manager prior to departing for Sweden following the team’s defeat to Everton on the last day of the season.
